  we have had two bedrooms carpeted, one done with hardwood flooring and our hallway and landing doen with hardwood and the service hasbeen great in each circumstance . The free survey helped out massively and the advice we received on the type of flooring and carpeting was a huge help to us . Much easier that dealign with a large coporate entity and they wer eonyl a phone call away for any issues (of which they were none)

  I will give 4 stars for overall but there is some issues which I want to describe. We had our stairs and landing fitted with carpet. Carpet it self is really nice. Fitting is not that good. Transition trims could be done a lot better. Some of them cut too short and lost it's shape. Because it's chrom so you can see inperfections where it's been bent around the edges. Some of it has up to 3mm gaps from the floor in the rooms which doesn't look good. Some edges of the carpet has bits sticking out from the carpet which I been told I need to cut off my self. End of the job fitters was in and out the house coming from outside with their dirty boots on the new carpet and stained it. Had to clean it my self. Had to point couple things also at the end to be fixed before they left. And why it's normal for the fitters not to hover at the end of the job I will never understand. It must be hoovered before you say to the client it's all done. Only then client can see if everything is fine. Which wasn't when I did it my self after they left..

  Richard came and measured up and worked everything out for me. Carpet was fitted today and I am really, really pleased. It all looks fantastic! Much better than dealing with large carpet companies, service was great from start to finish! Thanks A1 Carpets 😊.

  Great experience, staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Matched up a carpet I already had as close as possible. The price was quoted was reasonable and a good turn around time from order to fitting of 10 days. Slight discrepancy on invoice and was corrected with no hassle or cost to me. Will be using these guys again shortly for my hallway and stairs.

  Unreliable and unprofessional - avoid We had the most awful experience with this company last year. We shouldn't have paid. The owner Richard takes no responsibility for, and seems to have no control over his fitters (who he subcontracts) and the floor fitter has done a really poor job. We live in a small flat and chose a click and lock engineered wood floor because we were told this would be quick and easy to fit. Instead, we've been left with a terrible finish - there are gaps everywhere (both around the edging and within the main body of the floor) and it took 3 weeks to complete with them coming intermittently on days that suited them. The fitter Dean was rude and his workmanship was extremely poor. On the second day he laid the floor incorrectly in the hallway (we had wanted it to run through) and got angry when we insisted we wanted it laid correctly. At this point he also insisted it was impossible to fit the scotia molding we had bought (through them) because our skirting is partly concrete, but was unwilling to fit any alternative leaving us with an unfinished floor. He then left (after half a days work) saying he'd be back the following week to complete it. The following week he came back and walked out after about half an hour. He pulled up the flooring in our 2 year old daughters room, left a mess, and when we talked to him about finishing the edging simply walked out and refused to return. He said he would not touch the skirting on the instruction of Richard. We subsequently had to employ a general builder to complete the edging and he installed the scotia with no problem at all. After he walked out we went to speak to Richard. We didn't want Dean back in our flat after the way he'd behaved, and having seen his poor quality work. Richard was completely unhelpful. He agreed that the way Dean had behaved was wrong but did nothing to fix it. We asked for a different fitter but were told he'd already paid Dean so his hands were tied and he offered no discount either. I think any decent company in these circumstances would have bent over backwards to sort the situation out given the poor workmanship, timescale and stress caused but he offered nothing and deflected responsibility for the actions of his employee. Instead Dean came back the following week, we had no apology and he seemed to do an worse job than previously. The gaps he has left at the edges measure in places 2.5cm. The builder we employed to complete the job was unable to cover all of these with skirting leaving us with visible gaps in the floor. Dean then ran out of wood, which was not surprising given he had to pull up so much flooring after laying incorrectly in the first place. We ended up having to pay to order more wood to complete the job. Finally, the fitter asked us who was paying him. We said payment was through Richard but were left feeling confused as we'd been told by Richard he'd been paid already and this was the reason he had to complete the job rather than another fitter. I'm not sure who was telling the truth about this. When it actually came to paying, rather than offering any discount Richard asked for more money due to the extra days Dean had spent. All in all a horrific experience. I would not recommend this company at all. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced and we were left with a poorly fitted floor with no edging done, despite having paid for this, doors unhung. We had to pay someone else to finish and they were unable to hide all the gaps. Avoid.
