There isn't anything about this company that says professional. When you arrive it actually looks abandoned. All af the shrubbery is overgrown and unkempt there's a snooker table left to one side which has seemingly been there for a while and the sign is faded and dated which is highlighted by graffiti on the wall next to it. When you pull into the carpark it isn't any different as you are greeted with a dilapidated cabin that's past it's sell by date. There is an extremely poor display in the window that looks like it's just been thrown in there. When you finally get in the showroom after waiting for ages you are met with a depressing dark cold room with overbearing black cabinets that haven't been cleaned in years and there is mess and clocks left strewn all over the floor. I was greeted by a lady who didn't introduce herself ( northern lady ) who was brash rude and didn't seem to have a clue what she was talking about. I asked to speak to a watch maker and was introduced to Andrew who apparently is the owner . I say apparently because he was dressed in scruffy jeans with obvious bed hair was unshaven and looked as unkempt as the shrubs outside. I ended up leaving my watch thinking it would be affordable but was eventually after much chasing quoted £500 plus VAT ( £600 ). I decided not to have it repaired and returned to collect it. On my return I was met by Michelle who looked like she had just gone straight to work from the night before. She had a dirty white body warmer on and smelt of chip fat ( clearly no self respect ). She spent ages trying to locate my watch and it had cleary been misplaced which doesn't surprise me at all with this company. I voiced my disappointment in the time taken to locate my watch and she was clearly uninterested in what i had to say. This is clearly a company on a budget which surprises me when they charge so much.i found another watch maker who carried out the service for £300 inclusive of VAT and my watch is now working wonderfully. Very disappointing experience and I will not be returning.

Went to see Andrew today to get my watch adjusted. He was absolutely brilliant. His knowledge and experience due to training at Rolex really helped. Parking is brilliant easy to find and he was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Thank you for such an efficient service!

Excellent service. My 50 year old carriage clock looks like new. Completely overhauled, cleaned of tarnish and lacquered. Very committed and caring staff who clearly have both Considerable knowledge and a passion for all types of clocks. I cannot recommend them too highly. A very professional service.

My wife’s carriage clock, given to her grandmother in 1906, was completely refurbished. The clock was fully serviced, missing parts were replaced, and the case was restored to its original condition. On collection, time was taken (sorry about the pun) to show me how to correctly wind, and adjust the clock as necessary. My wife is delighted with this family heirloom, which has now taken pride of place on our mantle piece, replacing our more modern ‘50th Wedding Anniversary’ clock. In this digital age, it is a pleasure to wind it every Sunday morning and relaxing to hear it ticking quietly. Finally, staff here were extremely polite, friendly, understanding of my requirements and knowledgeable.

I returned to Andrew Charles with my Dads clock that they had repaired recently. It wasn't quite right & was gaining time & I hadn't got the key. The gentleman explained how the clock worked & how to slow it down. He also found me a key that would wind the clock. He showed me how to do it correctly. I came away feeling like a valued customer who had been dealt with professionally. Thank you

They have made my vintage Rolex wearable again with it lovely new strap. They were helpful with my pocket watch and I would recommend them. Although not local to me well worth the journey.

I recently left my husband's watch at Andrew Charles Ltd to have a new battery fitted. The following day I had a phone call telling me that a coil in the watch had been damaged when the last battery had been fitted and the estimate for repair was £600.00 ("worst case"). As the watch had been working perfectly for several years, I thought I should get a second opinion. I collected the watch and took it to a local jeweller who replaced the battery at a total cost of £15.00. The watch is working perfectly. So happy I got a second opinion!
