I stayed at Appleside B&B for around 3 months during a work contract in nearby Hatfield. The hosts are fantastic people and the room and facilities excellent. The B&B is in a very nice area of St Albans and parking is easy and security no concern at all. The B&B is close to a restaurant/pub and close enough to centre of St Albans where there are an endless supply of excellent restaurants, shops and pubs. I was disappointed that my contract was only short, I would have had no hesitation in extending beyond the 3 months. My preference when staying long term is to be as low key as possible and I was able to get about without any interruption. If you are in St Albans for short stay or in town for a longer work contract then I'd recommend here. If you are contracting in Hatfield the journey is absolutely painless and around 10 minutes in the car.
