Quite simply one of the best companies you could deal with. Excellent support, responsive and helpful and real people!. The product itself is brilliant. Quality components, easy to follow instructions (backed by excellent videos covering every aspect of the install) and performance to match. And a two-year warranty - whats not to like. So glad I opted for this product and not the cheaper alternative! You really do get what you pay for sometimes.

Although I haven't visited, I bought an Autoterm diesel heater after the Chinese one I bought died in 3 weeks. I bought the 2kw heater on advice that diesel heaters are better running on full power which burns off the soot/coke. The Chinese heaters are just tweaked until they work which often results in wasted fuel and coking up which is a common point of failure. The 2kw is 0.24L per hour flat out, compared to >0.5L. The quality is exceptional with well thought out controls and none of the nasties that come with the Chinese clones. The prices are competitive compared to Webasto/Eberspacher making them well worth the extra over the Chinese copies. I recommend the comfort controller and the GSM module (which seems to need a stop command sent if the start command fails, it has worked since, so I'm guessing the software variable isn't initialized or the startup code isn't zeroing the bss section).

I had a 2KW heater fitted by Autoterm over a month ago now. Friendly enough blokes, but didn't take much care fitting (ended up with loose wires, muddy carpet from boots etc). No waiting room on site either. That is not the reason for the review though. The reason for the review is that the modem has not worked since day one, the aftersales support has been pretty shocking. They have stopped telephone technical support, only use email (which they don't respond to). One of the engineers was helpful at first, he gave me his mobile number so I could contact directly and go through some troubleshooting. He wasn't able to resolve so has now stopped replying to my messages and answering my calls. From what he was saying before, it's a wide spread issue, and seems to be a problem with their chosen network provider. I understand certain things might be out of their control, but I don't expect to be ignored. I have carried out my own testing with various SIM cards (at my own expense of course) and have yet to find one that works. The SIM cards have top-up and work fine in other devices. I have tried: 1x Giffgaff SIM (Autoterm supplied with the heater - at additional cost) 2x Three mobile SIM 1x O2 SIM 1x Vodafone SIM 1x EE SIM 1x 1p mobile SIM Three main reasons why I chose autoterm in the first place: Modem = doesn't work Ventilation mode = doesn't do what the name implies, it will just circulate the air within the van without heat. It doesn't draw fresh air from outside. Customer support =non existent May as well have bought a cheap Chinese heater for £100

I can honestly say if you're thinking about having a Planar unit, definitely go for it!!! 2 years ago I opted to save a few quid and go for the cheaper Chinese alternative and did have a few issues with the parts themselves. (Not install). So this time I decided to spend the extra few quid and go for a more reliable, better quality heating unit. And boy I'm happy I did!!! The difference in quality is night and day!!! Value for money is exceptional and the customer service I received was really helpful as I have limited knowledge. A fairly easy install. My kit came with absolutely everything I needed and everything is such good quality! Would definitely recommend based on my experience!! And have the piece of mind now that my heating will be there when I need it ☺️
