Following a late diagnosis of gestational diabetes and polyhydramnios, I contacted Julia to help me navigate the potential risks associated with those conditions, the information given by the consultants and my options for birthing a potentially large baby. Due to location, we were unable to meet face to face, however Julia was very generous with her time and worked with me remotely often in the evenings. Knowing I was keen to have a mindful and positive birth experience, Julia provided me with unbiased advice as well as great resources for building up my knowledge and context to the risks my consultants were raising. She aided my preparation for discussions with consultants and provided positivity around my decisions making me feel empowered and supported. I would recommend Julia as a doula to any mums / parents to be, as part of your pregnancy and birth support.
