I have been training Capoeira with Joel for about a month. He is really passionate about this martial art, so his classes are extremely enjoyable. Every class consist of a bit of music, culture, history and of course a lot of capoeira movements and mobility skills. I highly recommend this classes for everyone, especially for beginners, as Joel is super patient and adapts his technic to all levels.

I tried Capoeira with different teachers and I think Joel really has something special about his teaching style.. he is inclusive, sensitive, attentive, encouraging. He breaks down exercises so that everyone can follow them and feel like they are in the process of learning as opposed to feeling Discouraged and unable to complete the exercises. Joel gives enough attention to all the aspects of Capoeira: History and traditions, music, expression, fun, body flexibility and strength, sense of community... I highly recommend his classes to anyone who might want to try a new activity in a nice and inclusive environment, anyone who wants to grow, both physically and mentally and see how Capoeira can change somebody’s life! :) Axè para Joel e contramestre Xandão!
