Would not recommend this accountants at all for any small business. Cannot express how unhelpful they are. Came to them and openly said I had no experience with any accounting or bookkeeping so would need quite a lot of help and was told this was no problem. For the first 2/3 months, absolutely nothing was done by the accountants and so I was left extremely behind and tangled with the accounting software Xero. Once they finally gave me an idea of how to do my bookkeeping, it turned out the whole procedure was done incorrectly and in an overly complicated way. Since going to a new accountant, they found Certax's way of doing things laughable and extremely unnecessary for a business of my size and nature. After even more months of getting behind, I had to enlist someone else to help me outside of the Certax accountants as they were useless. They try to charge extra for every little thing they can despite it being included in the contracted monthly fee, e.g. they tried to charge me over £100 for the set up of payroll even though "payroll" is clearly included in the contract, but apparently this doesn't include the set up of. I ended up setting it up myself, which took all of 5 minutes to do online, so £100+ is ridiculous. After emailing asking for help on something I was rudely told they weren't happy to give me the answer with any more questions regarding this, again, despite them knowing from the beginning I would need help.
