We've all seen TVs 'The Repair Shop'. This has got to be the closest thing you'll find in this neck of the woods. Minus the Barn, you'll find real craftspeople who know and love what they do. Friendly, straightforward service so no need to worry about handing your precious object over. For my late grandmother's chiming/striking pendulum clock, they went above and beyond. I knocked over my much loved antique clock. John did his best to repair the damage but when it wasn’t possible he fitted a quartz movement so I can enjoy my clock again. He didn’t charge for the work he did trying to repair it only for fitting the new movement and kept me updated at every stage in the process. Clearly very knowledgeable and does a great job for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend him.

John recently serviced and repaired our 230-year-old longcase clock; it had been out of use for several months and had not been serviced or cleaned for about 30 years. When we delivered the movement to his workshop he detailed the work required and gave us a timescale and a fair estimate for the job, as well as showing us around the workshop. When the work was completed he promptly returned the movement and reinstalled it in the case. When a minor problem arose soon after, he called back without delay and resolved it. We are very happy with the job. John is a genial chap who obviously loves clocks and his work: we have no hesitation in recommending him and Merseyside Clock Repairs.
