Where do we start, we initially rocked up to Phil in York with a make-shift mood board full of magazine cut outs and grand ideas of building our own barn style house. Phil was very polite and encouraging when he informed us that typically, clients start with a plot of land, then design a house that suits the location, not the other way around. This will give you an idea of how little we knew! This anecdote is a pretty good representation for the rest of the project. We came up with hair-brained ideas, then Phil kindly brought us back down to planet earth with some realism about building your own house. Fast forward nealry 3 years and we are sitting in a home we are very proud to say we built. We couldnt be happier with it, and we honestly cant imagine how we'd have arrived here without Phil's help. He went over and above when guiding us through our self build journey. Phil's personal and honest approach helped us navigate our project through planning, design and construction. He is a very profficient at 3D modelling which allowed us to visualise internal spaces throughout the design process, this helped us a lot when we changed layouts, we actually ended up on drawing revision S (Not advisable!). He is a very profficient Passivhas designer, has great contacts and is very knowledgable in all aspects of a construction. The external of the property isnt finished yet and has unfortunately been postponed with recent developements. We'll post some more pics when its fully complete. Thanks for all the help Phil!
