What a wonderful, talented professional, a true powerhouse in the obstetrics field! I do not usually leave reviews, but felt so lucky we met Dr karen Joash at the Portland who delivered our daughter in 2021. We feel blessed to have had her expert care and attention throughout our pregnancy. She genuinely cares and takes great interest in her mums and babies. I was always reluctant to have consultant level care, finding the pool of Doctors ‘clinical’ and somewhat emotionally detached. Dr Karen Joash on the other hand extended warmth and endless smiles, making our appointments a joy. She also educated me on pre and post natal care and I honestly believe my smooth pregnancy and delivery could not have happened without her. She is extremely attentive and knowledgeable and stands miles ahead of other consultants in the obstetrics field because of her ability to skilfully balance professional expertise with kindness and humility. Dr Karen Joash clearly loves and deeply cares for what she does. Warm hugs throughout, positive support and reassurance right up to the birth and beyond, Dr Karen gives women the attention they deserve during pregnancy and childbirth. Her positive energy is infectious and she is great company, even during labour! Cannot recommend her enough to expectant mums!

Dr Joash has delivered both of our children (2019 and 2021) and we can’t speak highly enough of her. We are grateful for the outstanding medical care we received and we have nothing but high praise for her. She is the best obstetrician we could have had! Karen have gone above and beyond all expectations, especially during the unprecedented Covid times. We couldn’t imagine this journey without Karen’s guiding hand. She is patient, kind and generous with time and care. The second pregnancy was more challenging and only thanks to Karen the baby and I are well. In addition, everyone at the Portland Hospital (midwives and doctors) adore Karen and love working beside her. Lastly, Karen (unsurprisingly) has the an amazing PA - Sophia. Sophia is incredible and I can’t thank her enough for the kind, professional and efficient support she has provided to us.

Unprofessional and borderline incompetent. I made an appointment with Dr Karen Joash because of all the raving reviews of read of her. I made the appointment for a procedure as a private consultation. From the start, she admited that she had not checked her scheduled, and saw me 30 min late, though she was at the clinic to see me on time. During the appointment, because she was running late, she failed to take 10 min to take a basic patient history, which would have enable her to do the procedure that I had made the appointment for, be performed more efficiently and less clumsily. At the end of appointment, becuase again she was running late, she was confused and distracted to answer my questions about post-procedure are. At the end of my visit, I was charged twice, by her as a consultant and then by the Harley Street Clinic. I could have flown to the US, and done the same visit and procedure for less money and with properly trained and competent physicians.

Karen is an amazing professional and a beautiful person inside and out! The moment I walked into her office I felt understood and in safe hands.I almost had a phobia of childbirth and didn't want to deliver naturally at all, but she reassured me that I will have an easy delivery and everything will go well. I am so happy now that I listened to her as my delivery was pretty much straightforward and only one week after having my baby boy I went out for my birthday dinner wearing heels :) I feel very lucky to have met Karen and can't find enough words to express my gratitude.
