Farmfield Hospital is a privately owned low and medium secure psychiatric unit (I'm guessing whoever wrote the other review about having their eyesight saved by Dr 'This-n-That' was having a laugh). My own experience of the place was much less funny. The following is just my own opinion: I thought staff generally did their best for patients, but overall the hospital suffered from a high staff turnover, which impacted on the quality of the service and contributes to low staff morale. The physical location of Farmfield Hospital is also a problem as it is isolated from most of the local amenities and has very poor public transport links. This limits opportunities for patients to gain the practical skills and confidence needed to return to living independently in society. This hospital performed poorly in their last government inspection (2015), which rated Farmfield as 'requires improvement' for every measured category.
