Harry was just amazing. Although my husband had a much shortened life expectancy, he actually died quite suddenly from an acute incident, less than 12 hours after being assessed by his clinical nurse specialist. Martlets Hospice were wonderful and arranged for an emergency doctor, but while we were waiting my husband’s condition deteriorated rapidly and I dialed 999. That put us in the sudden death, referral to the Coroner, cycle. I really did not want my husband’s body to go the mortuary. I had not organised a Funeral Director, but googled those with a 24 hour service who conducted burials at Woodland Valley where we had a plot booked, in the middle of the night. Found Harry who negotiated with the Police and my son, to arrange for my husband’s body to be transferred to H J Newington’s care. From then on, Harry picked up on what our family wanted, and arranged a superb celebrant, Gabrielle Cowburn. If my husband and I had gone to a burial of a friend that was like the one Harry and Gabi organised for my husband, we would have both said that it was the most beautiful burial we had ever been too, and we would each have promised the other that whomever of us survived the other, we would arrange a burial just like that. I never quite realised why a lovely burial is really important. Now I remember the last time I ‘saw’ my husband in his beautiful wicker coffin, sitting out in the sun, with a stunning spray of red roses. That memory is infinitely better than the one I previously had, of my husband’s dead body in bed beside me.

Being a 21 year old an going through the death of my mum was was/is an extremely challenging time - especially making sure her funeral was 'perfect'. Harry was there from start to finish and advised me throughout the whole process with what I need to do. in terms of the service itself I couldn't of asked for more, its hard to describe but if she saw it herself she would've been proud. Thanks again Harry for all your help, would recommend to anyone struggling to choose a service provider. I do however hope I do not need to use your service again soon.
