I have just invested in a new dinner suit at Harvie and Hudson after my much loved 35-year old item had shrunk to the point of discomfort, as they do. Richard did a super job of getting to know my requirements and preferences, talk through the options and then take enormous care to make sure I had the right fit. He also went the extra mile to turn around the alterations in just a few hours so I could wear it the same evening. Excellent service from a lovely team. Thank you all. I’ll be back soon!

So interesting having shopped in this store to then read the number of reviews that highlight the shocking customer care that I received. Even more shocking to see all negative reviews have been met with the same response. It does not matter how many years the store has been open, with the service they are currently providing, they will never be graced with repeat custom, Mayfair is a small place. A self proclaimed Gentleman's tailors, Gentleman is one thing they are not. Purchased a cashmere coat on the Friday, on Saturday the pocket ripped much to my disappointment. Having only put my hand in the pocket for the tension to create a small rip at the back of the pocket seam. I returned the coat on the Monday and made it clear I could appreciate cashmere is a softer / more delicate material, but nevertheless a pocket should not rip from merely resting a hand on it. Given the material, I would not insist on a new coat but rather they would repair it. At the time the manager made a jibe that he had caught his coat in a turn stile and it had ripped (obviously insinuating I had done the same but at the time I chose to ignore it, I like to pick my battles) upon collection, they presented me a bill for the repair. Admittedly I was shocked, as normally in such instances i'd have asked for my money back or a new coat. His reasoning again was that I had caught the coat and ripped it. Moral of the story, the shop manager was prepared to stand there and tell me I was a liar and they were unable to accept any responsibility as the product maker. I guess the sad reality when you opt for Jermyn Street over Saville Row. Do not recommend spending £1200 in these kind of shops as the customer service does not match the price tag.
