We went to buy a replacement gas fire, but were advised that an electric fire would be better. We purchased the fire Wednesday, picked it up Thursday and returned it - unopened Friday. We were told that it was not possible to get an electric supply to the fireplace so the fire was not fit for purpose. This was verified by a fitter recommended by Hearth and home. The "helpful" saleman said any refund would be minus 30%, quoting their Ts and Cs and was quite rude on the phone. There is no complaints procedure and all comments must be made to the salesman who is also the managing director and company owner. We had to claim a refund from the credit card company. BUYER BEWARE

Extremely disappointed to have driven for almost an hour to come and visit this place. Got here before the stated closing time of 5pm (20 mins before), to find it with the shutters down and door locked. Their website says they close at 5pm, Google states they close at 5pm, the sign on the door states they close at 5pm. Clearly someone couldn't be bothered working their full shift so they clocked off early. Well, they've lost a customer and what would've been a definite sale.

I recently took my elderly father to buy a replacement electric fire after his had stopped working. We were able to purchase a replacement immediately at a very reasonable price. Andrew (?) was extremely helpful. He also suggested that we bring the broken one back just in case it could be repaired. I did so the following morning. I received a phone call less than two hours later to inform me that the fire had been repaired and was ready to collect...and because it was fairly straightforward there would be no charge. You so rarely receive this type of outstanding customer service these days that it is only right that when you do so it is recognised. Thank you so much.
