I've used John High Opticians a few times. I found them adequate and a little expensive but wanted to support local businesses. This morning however I took in a pair of my wife's glasses that had broken across the frame. Having barely opened the case I was immediately told that they could not be fixed. I pressed further, whether they could not be fixed or that the company were not willing and after a minute or so of obfuscation the person I was dealing with admitted that their repair shop wouldn't be willing to do anything more than repairing a loose arm. I've since made further enquiries and found a number of places who would be glad to attempt the repair and have offered temporary solutions. All of the repair outfits I have spoken to agreed that John High were more interested in selling new frames than trying to help. I feel that I was lied to when I was told that the repair could not be done and I should not have had to press the issue to find out that the repair could be made and they were just unwilling to help. I will not be returning to John High for any reason.
