Visited as a group of four adults midweek. The steam service we had hoped to travel on had broken down and caused some delays as a replacement was found. The staff on the platform were so helpful in keeping everyone updated with what was happening and managing the growing groups of people. There was a trolley service with hot/cold/alcoholic drinks and some snacks. You can also pre-order selections to take on board with you. The chap on board giving the talk kept it interesting with some "facts" I expect some people were left a little bemused... Carriages are beautifully maintained. All the staff (on and off the train) are volunteers and really made the trip for us. We even bought one of the old metal display trunks for a donation :-) Thank you - will definitely visit again.
