Haven't visited the Kent MOMI for a while and have just been to one of their Frifay evening showings of rarely seen films. This was a silent b&w film of a 3way live story based on WW1 pilots. Exceptionally good to see a film other than the Hollywood formula . Lovely warm welcome from Joss and David who own and run the living museum. I will be keeping an eye out for more treats from them, who knows what next... Ealing comedy or another silent? Cracking museum too - what they can't tell you about film, you don’t need to know. Really, go visit, soon.

Excellent place in Deal. I recommend you to have an opportunity to visit museum. Lovely kind curators and volonteers help and answer the questions. Unusual objects exposition, I was especially struck by moving paper figures from Indonesia. When you go through the composition there is beatifuliful garden. I drank tea there and enjoyed the smell of irises.

There is so much here and the people who run and curate the place are so knowledgeable. But this leads to the museum having too much to look at and the visitors having so much reading to do to find out what is being displayed. Probably a better resource than a venue.

Enjoyable afternoon spent on past film techniques, production, topics. Enjoyed the WW1 focus and playing the ukelele and posing in Charlie Chaplins hat. Intriguing clips from films dating from the late 1800's onwards. Very interesting and knowledgeable curator. Highly recommend!!
