I was diagnosed with IDC ( breast cancer) on June 08,2017. Cancer patients know very well what it means to get this shocking news. Dr. Peiris had just moved to the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton and I was extremely lucky to be his patient. Since the first visit he was extremely caring, professional, punctual and very competent. I chose to have mastectomy with reconstructive surgery at the same time, done by Dr.Peiris. He is an outstanding surgeon.We are very, very lucky to have Dr.Peiris in Edmonton. I am having issues with Tamoxifen for the last 2 weeks ( concerning side effects). I have left a message for the Cross Cancer Institute Nurse Practitioner in charge and it is three business days now and she has not called back. I called Dr.Peiris' assistant this morning and he called me back within an hour and took the time to answer all my questions patiently and give me his competent advise once again. Let us hope he becomes a role model for other medical staff here in Edmonton! Thank you Dr.Peiris!
