Purchased a "Loft Centre Chichester Disappearing Stairway" four years ago. We are using it several times a day to carry boxes of all sizes, small to big up and down to/from the attic as we keep stock there. There is no other alternative solution for what we needed it for, as far as I know. A fixed staircase was not a choice as the entrance is from the middle of our entrance hall and it would make that space unusable. After four years of use it is still in as new condition... I'm sure it will serve us for many years to come. I guess the only problem we might have after many more years would be the springs that can be replaced... When we installed it we had few minor issues, i.e. the instruction manual was not updated and showed wrong size for the frame, which caused a little bit of a problem, but the difference was only 5mm, so we could easily correct. We never installed the handrail as never felt the need... (doesn't mean you should not... ;o) The other issue was that we received a glue instead of a lubricant, fortunately I read the title, otherwise we might have ended up with a "fixed" staircase. They sent us the correct product within few days... We also run a shop, so we know people make mistakes, and the user must be reasonable and rely on common sense just as well as the instruction, therefore I was generous with the five stars...

Great product and after-sales service. I purchased a Caernarvon Disappearing Stair back in 2012 to reach the loft of our Victorian house that I had partially converted. The ceilings in this house are almost 3 m high, so the longest version was needed. The instructions were clear enough that my local carpenter/joiner (Peter Hurn) here in the Norwich area was able to install it properly. It has worked great until recently when a fitting (which holds the stair in place when closing the loft trap) began to stick a bit. I just called the Loft Centre and they replaced the part for free. Great stuff.

We deliberated for a long time before deciding on the Skylark fully automatic loft ladder. We are so delighted with it, it totally transforms the attic. Before it was a real pain to get up there by pulling down the old ladder then clambering up, but this is like having a staircase and now we have a study which is easily accessible. The design is superb and gives the house a real wow factor. David French at the Loft Centre was absolutely brilliant, and couldn't be more helpful. Thank you again for such great service!
