Dear Dr Sankaye, It is two weeks since you gave me bilateral nerve root block and pars defect injections, and I want you to know how grateful I am to you for – and I know it sounds dramatic, but it’s true – giving me back my life! As was obvious when I met with you and your colleagues on the morning of Thursday xxx, I was in a great deal of pain in my right leg, I was very upset and I was petrified and I was frightened. You and your colleagues were nothing short of wonderful in dealing with the above. Please can you thank on my behalf your team who supported you in carrying out the procedure. But most of all my thanks go to you – for your empathy and patience, for your humility, for your kindness, for your amazingly high level skills, for taking notice of me when I said I needed bilateral nerve root blocks and bilateral pars defect, and finally, for making me pain free! Thank you also for telling me I should contact you when the pain returns. I shall certainly do that! Currently I have no pain whatsoever! My leg and foot are almost permanently tingling and often numb, but I can live with that.
