Bars adjoining hotels in my experience are usually over priced and mediocre. I was staying at the Montcalm and popped in here to have a couple of pints and really enjoyed myself. It had a real old school pub vibe, brewery and pub games available including shuffleboard. Despite this rustic environment it had the benefit of being able to use the WC in the hotel and was in my opinion reasonably priced. I would drink here even if not staying in the hotel

Great pub and bar to visit. Super selection of beers to try and fab screens for watching sport. The staff were very friendly and even though we didn’t eat the food coming out look good! Also the place is very clean! Especially the toilets. Will definitely visit again.

Like others have said, the beer here is pretty good but the food does let it down. Ordered £7.50 garlic pizza bread and got a small, limp piece of bread. However barman apologised for the lack of mozzarella and gave us 2 free beers. Then ordered loaded £15 Nachos, which had barely any cheese on them and were cold. Reported this and barman apologised and "warmed them up", so probably 10 seconds in the microwave and still barely any cheese on them. Go for the beer, but eat somewhere else!
