I haven't been to this practice since my dentist, David Metcalf, retired a couple of years back. I was aware that the practice had changed from the cheerful, friendly and helpful telephone attitude of the reception staff - an impression reinforced on my first visit. It was only a check-up but I was very impressed by the professional treatment I got from Dr Masavi and I'm very pleased to think that he will be looking after my teeth in the future. My limited experience so far is very positive

Unfortunately my last experience with yourselves was a gnats-hair away from you becoming the new Highway Men. Previously I had a temporary filling put in with a view to having the cracked rear tooth taken out at a later date. This cost around £80. Unfortunately, I also have a number of other "issues" that will shorten my life expectancy considerably .... one of which is in my mouth as well. Anyway on the day I turned up but was really ill. Later that night the Hospital confirmed I had “full-on” Flu and I slept for 3 days solid. My appointment was clearly made to have this tooth removed however the Dentist I saw tried to tell me I had an apse, the same as he told the old lady before me. I asked him to stop messing and take the tooth out once and for all but he refused and insisted on taking an X-ray even though I'd previously had one and charged me £77 for the pleasure and guess what …. I was right. No apse. Anyway he insisted I have another appointment in 2 hours time .... WHAT? By this time I was so ill I couldn’t argue. I went to reception and said I'd be back at the apointed time but “money bags” behind the counter wanted paying there and then (previously I had accidentally bounce a check on them with no idea it had happened and she balled me out in front of all the people in the waiting room on that occasion) so reluctantly I gave her what I consider was extorted money as when I had the tooth out 2 hours later I had to pay another £190 for the pleasure. Now I had expected to pay this figure as I'd had a quote when I booked. They didn't however warn me about the unnecessary added fee as I had, as I said, booked to get the offending item removed NOT messed with. To rub salt into the expensive wound the dentist damaged to tooth next to the offending one and subsequently I'm looking for an honourable practitioner to amend the mistake. On a final note I fully expect the surgery to take this post down and ignore me so I openly challenge them to do the right thing. Lovat House Dental, 32 Christ Church Road Cheltenham, GL50 2PL
