I haven't sung properly in a long time and wanted to dip my toe in again. Lucy's energy is amazing. So welcoming which put me at ease straight away. Everyone in choir was friendly and the song choices were right up my street! I haven't sung in a choir since I was in school... which was a long time ago. That was quite strict, including dicky bows as a uniform *shudders*. This choir is more about having fun and enjoying what you're singing. It's hard to pin point one favourite thing but I like the different range of songs we sing. Pop songs from different eras. My mental health is a lot better and I'm a lot happier than I was before. People have noticed a smile on my face. It's making such a difference. If you're thinking of joining then do it! You'll feel amazing afterwards! Don't worry about what kind of vocal range you have. There are different sections which you can try.

I have always loved singing & been part of various choirs. I enjoy singing with others, learning new songs & being part of a community. Lucy's Pop Choir has a very friendly atmosphere with a relaxed and informal style. There's a good choice of songs & nice harmonies. This choir has more of a pop feel to the songs, with a relaxed feel to the rehearsals and no pressure. I love hearing the beautiful harmonies. It's great to get some nice social time for myself doing something I enjoy!

I joined Lucy's Pop Choir to meet people and have fun. The choir leader having a sideline as a stand up comedian also made a difference! I love the chocolates we have in the break and the relaxed nature of rehearsals and performances. I know more people locally now, and it's added a different dimension to my social life. You should try it! There's absolutely no pressure! Choir has done exactly what I wanted it to do: it's fun, I've met loads of friendly people and go out more as a result of it... without any pressure. Oh... and btw... I sing!!

I'm new to the area, so I joined Lucy's Pop Choir to sing for fun and make new friends. I love the friendliness, choice of songs, chocolates and fun! My favourite thing is how Lucy's great personality shines through. I've been in other choirs before, and this one has a better age range which is great. It always puts a smile on my face and I can't wait until the next week. Thank you for brightening my week every Wednesday Lucy!

I joined Lucy's Pop Choir because I love to sing, but wanted more contemporary songs rather than Church music. Lucy is so engaging. She shares her enthusiasm and makes everyone feel at ease and part of the group no matter what the size. I've been part of other choirs but what makes Lucy's Pop Choir different is that we are encouraged to have fun and become part of a choir family. I love the songs we have covered and there is something for everyone! The social side is great, I've made some lovely new friends and I love the songs. I look forward to it every week! I actually even feel fitter! The choir has given me a reason to put my makeup on, smarten up and do something that is exhilarating! Lucy's Pop Choir is a must if you love to have a sing out loud. You can laugh and make new friends and you feel safe just to be yourself. 🎤💕😃

I was reemerging from the newborn baby twilight zone and looking for ways to connect with community outside of being a parent. I really enjoy singing in a group but I have no training and couldn't commit to anything too complicated. I wanted to find a low-key community choir and the fact that Lucy's choir sings pop songs was the icing on the cake. Lucy's energy and vibe immediately drew me in. She has a relaxed and effective teaching style for people with no musical training, and she clearly enjoys her work. For me, that was enough to make me want to stay. You just go and sing fun songs. I have been in one other community choir before this one and I loved it too. Lucy's pop choir is more mainstream and therefore, I think, more accessible from the beginning. You're singing songs you've heard before and may have fond memories of. My favourite thing about choir is taking a break from my everyday life to just sing songs with other people who love singing songs together. To me it feels really liberating to use my voice like that and I met a bunch of people from different walks of life who I really connected with and enjoy seeing every week. It's something that I do just for me and it feels restorative. I think it can feel intimidating to join in with a large group of people who already know each other. Especially if you're nervous about singing. But honestly, this group is really friendly and supportive. Be brave and try it!

I’ve never been part of a choir before (in my adult life!) so pitched up to Lucy's Pop Choir on my own feeling slightly apprehensive. So glad I did... Lucy is great fun, chooses a good mix of well known songs and even brings sweets for choir practice interval! Everyone else is really friendly and welcoming too. I look forward to my Wednesday evenings at the Crown. If you're considering joining a choir then I would definitely recommend you give it a try.

My favourite thing about Lucy's Pop Choir is Lucy's enthusiasm and energy! I joined the choir to continue singing (had been having private lessons but stopped), and meet new people in my area. It gives me something to look forward to every week! Seeing new acquaintances and looking forward to a new song. Singing really, really helps with my breathing!!! My osteopath says I have a tight chest (stress) and singing (because of the breathing) is really good for it :) I love promoting the choir and I'm happy to continue to do so!

Lovely relaxed choir where we have fun and meet new people while making music. There’s no audition needed and you don’t need to be able to read music - just enjoy singing. We’ve busked in Harrogate, sung at Harlow Carr, sung at a wedding and taken part in a Flashmob! Would thoroughly recommend
