    I've stayed at the Melia London Kensington twice and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel in an excellent location. Kensington Gardens is a 10-minute walk down the road, Gloucester station is a 2-minute walk away and there are a number of restaurants in the area serving international cuisines. The staff has always been exceptionally kind, polite and helpful. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and, best of all, I could open the window to let in fresh air.

    We stayed there at the beginning of our Euro trip and from the moment we walked in off a red eye the service above and beyond. Even when we ran into trouble the morning checking out and finding out our train was cancelled they worked for us to make accommodations and to get us an extra night. They were helpful in anything we asked and made sure our stay was top notch.

    Our room flooded. Staff were not helpful at all. They said that it was our fault (mind you they have showers, so how we would flood an entire room with a shower is beyond me). The manager had the worst attitude and very condescending and dismissive. She said that there was nothing she can do, there were no other rooms they can move us to and that we would still have to pay for this room (until they “investigate” this and still no word from them). We had to stay there even though the floors were damp and it’s freezing in London this time of year and this was in the basement of the building. This has made me experience in London horrible and this manager should not be in hospitality at all!!
