The food was really good, only complaint is that it's £4.95 for 1/2 a peroni, that's extortionate. When I asked about it I was told it was £6.95 for a pint and £4.95 for a half. As there are no prices the staff really should recommend having a pint instead of a half.. I find it quite sneaky to squeeze money out of people without giving them the options. So - if you're on beer get a pint otherwise your bill rockets.

Affordable Turkish inspired menu, lots of space for lazy lunches or big celebrations with friends. Super friendly staff. Clean toilets and great service. Mem and Laz is an Islington Treasure that has withstood the changes of time. Locals like me love it. Tasty food (Goats cheese with hazelnut crust is a must), easy dining and smashing cocktails. What more does any good natured human need to enjoy life?! Go! You won't regret it 😊 Kid-friendliness: During the day rugrats can be found squealing with delight and stuffing their faces. You can be seated away from children if you want but I have never experienced a problem with little ones.

When you first see it from outside you think to yourself that it’s a small restaurant, but it isn’t. It’s a very long one with two floors. The staff is welcoming and is looking out for you throughout your meal. Unfortunately, we arrived at rush hour and had to wait quite a lot before being asked out choices. The food is tasty, as advertised, lots of seasoning and different kinds of tasty meals. I personally recommend the seafood casserole or mixed seafood. The mixed mezze is also very good, the bread comes out of the wood oven. On the social side of the restaurant, it is very noisy but it has this very warm and welcoming side. The toilets are not accessible for handicapped people, the ground floor is for the first part, but to access the second part you have to use stairs. In the end it was a very good experience. I’d recommend it. I’d advise you to book in advance (at least a few hours) to have a table.

Beautiful place, intimate atmosphere with stylish lights fetched from charity shops for 5£ each ——the owner says. What a place to enjoy a nice Friday night with some wine and a good catchup of old friends! As we had dinner already, we were looking for a place to have a drink and a chat. The owner saw us outside looking at the menu, welcomed us warmly with joy—— so we decided to try this restaurant out of many others on this street! Turns out this is a great choice. Friendly service and particularly we enjoyed the dessert. The chocolate melts in your mouth with a silky smooth texture, and it has deep chocolate aroma, paired just right with unsweetened (or slightly sweetened) cream. A bittersweet symphony.

Excellent staff, food was very good. Dietary restrictions: For a fellow diner when they asked for an item to be removed from their selection, the waiter immediately asked about any allergies. It felt like this was towards the top of their list of things to ask. A good sign.
