I went there to endorse document and certify as copy from the original when they found a small job. They were not even interesting, has it's not money generating for them?

As a first time buyer, me and my partner were informed about Wheelers and how good a service they were so we thought that this was the place that would help us through our first time purchase of a house. We should have done more research before continuing on with their (awful) service. There were so many problems with this company but, our biggest one (even our mortgage lender agreed was wrong) was the fact that we started paying for a house that we weren't living in for the first four days. Do not use this company.

Having used Wheelers to for conveyancing on at least 8 previous occasions over the past 8 or 9 years and been very pleased with their professional service, I was extremely disappointed to find that after our latest sale fell through when the buyer pulled out within 3 weeks of instruction, I was charged £495 of the £500 upfront payment for 'works carried out in your abortive sale'. There was no breakdown of 'works' on the statement, just a seemimgly arbitrary cost of £400 + VAT plus £15 for disbursements. I shall sadly be looking elsewhere for future conveyancing of our holiday rental and buy to let portfolio.
