I went to see Mr Shah for a 2nd opinion after a problem hip replacement. He was fantastic. He listened, understood a complex issue and came up with a course of treatment that has resolved the issue to my satisfaction. I have no hesitation in recommending him for knee or hip surgery and will undoubtedly come back to him again in future.

From my first consultation with Mr Shah I felt he listened and cared. He fully explained the state my hip was in, the procedure to replace my right hip and what I could expect with regards to recovery. He instilled me with the confidence and positivity I needed and I can't recommend him highly enough. 5 Star PLUS!

After many years of knee problems, I had an initial appointment with Mr. Shah which was an excellent consultation. He made sure he understood both my issues and ambitions of what I wanted to achieve regarding playing sport for the next 15 years, even at my advancing age. After x-rays etc, a knee replacement was agreed as the best option. Mr. Shah explained the procedure in detail and what was involved during and post operation. Mr Shah has maintained a strong interest in my total recovery post-surgery, and I am now back to my golf, gym and cycling, so a happy man. Paul Greenwood.

Mr Shah has replaced both of my hips. The right hip in 2015, which is still working well and is as good as my own hip was before the arthritis made walking so painful. I even managed to train for the couch to 5K run in 2021. Before the surgery Mr Shah was kind and patient with me and my family, reassuring us and always available to answer any questions. All involved in the procedure were so professional and made me feel safe. This year my GP recommended a left hip replacement, I contacted Mr Shah as I feel safe in the knowledge that he specialises in hip and knee surgery and was recognised as a Capital Leader and leads the enhanced recovery programme at Guy's. After my left hip replacement on 04/04/23 I was walking without crutches on the second day, and now four weeks later I am back at work, walking without any aid, walking up stairs although a little slower I am so happy with the results. The scars start off risen but even now after four weeks it has flattened out, the scar from 2021 is the finest line and can't be seen while by the pool! Prior to my surgery I felt very low, walking was painful which affected my family life, I was worried about having grandchildren and if I would ever be able to play with them, I felt very old and sad. Since my surgery I am so happy with the new hip, I feel happier, pain and medication free and I feel young again. I am looking forward to planning holidays and joining in with the family fun rather than always worrying about walking distances. I don't think Mr Shah and his team realise how their work changed my life on both occasions, they are amazing!

Mr. Shah is a very kind and thoughtful surgeon. He was able to put my mind at ease when I saw him regarding my TKR. Having carried out the knee replacement on my left leg in April 2023 I am now hoping recovery will be such that Mr. Shah will be agreeable to carrying out the one to my right knee in the Autumn. I should also commend the helpfulness of Aamira, Mr. Shah's secretary....nothing was ever too much trouble and emails and phone calls were always answered and dealt with promptly.

I am 38 years old and I was suffering from Avascular Nercosis of femoral head. I had hip replacement surgery performed by Dr. Shah at the Blackheath hospital in March. I would recommend Dr. Shah because of his empathetic approach, his bedside manner and most importantly putting the patient at ease by answering all the questions with a smile and explaining the surgery and process in detail. Surgery was very smooth and instructions/guidance post-surgery provided by Dr. Shah was detailed and helpful in the recovery. The best part about Dr. Shah is that he sets the right expectations from the beginning and is always happy to answer your questions with a smile.

Last May I was extremely fortunate to have a referral to Dr Zameer Shah for right hip replacement. It was undertaken at Blackheath BMI Hospital and, although a Private hospital, I was not surrounded by luxuary. However, what I was surrounded by was excellent staff in each department and on the ward. Four weeks ago, I returned to Blackheath Hospital for my left hip to be replaced. Once again I was met with the same kindness and consideration from each member of staff ranging from the Receptionist, the Houseekeeping staff, Physio and Pharmacy. The Nursing staff were exemplary and, although busy, never showed impatience or lack of concern. Many systems had been replaced and updated which interested me greatly as it showed a keenness to provide a more holistic care for the patients. Finally, I come to the Theatre staff and Mr Shah. The Anaesthetist visited me early in the morning and took all the time needed to answer any questions I might have. On arriving in Theatres I noted that, once again, there had been changes to the way in which information was given freely to the patient. I do understand that some patients do not wish to know what is happening, but for myself and, many like me, this is the only way I can keep any semblance of control. Mr Shah was already there and, I asked him about the changes. He surprised me as he responsded, with a smile, that they were learning. For an extremely experience and knowledgeable Consultant, I found this answer heartwarming and lacking in any artifice, proving that regardless of your title, being a doctor is forever an ongoing learning experience. Thank you Mr Shah.
