    OMG..!!! At the end of 1979, l had joint RAF Newton to have a language course for foreign air traffic controllers in order to move later on to RAF Shawbury. It was the most beautiful quite place near by Nottingham. Best wishes to the RAFs from the IRAQI Air Force

    It seems such a shame to see this once happy and clean station reduced to this. I was there when it was TechTraining Command, teaching all the fairies to to look after our missiles. Great private squadron there as well Nottingham University Air Squadron, students could come from uni and be taught how to fly chipmunks on the immaculate grass air strips. Small enough for most to know each other and smile as you passed them.
