After spending a lovely day in York I wanted to buy some food and drinks for the train. Staff were rude and arrogant about the after 6pm a dry station rules. Thanks for being such a know it all. Not all of us are from York so would appreciate less of the attitude.

After 6pm you can't buy beer on a Saturday. Staff member was unnecessarily rude about it to me and my partner when there's just no need. Irony is you can buy beer in all the pubs in the station and a load of footy lads were drinking cans on the station as well. Seems a really good initiative....not

I walked in and out. Baffling, in a station shop, why wouldn't you make it easy quick and cheap to buy snacks and refreshments? Wine was largely marked up, security tagged and cork topped, so a slow and useless purchase vs buying on the train.

Walked into Sainsbury’s to buy some things, when got to the counter the woman handed the wrong item to me and when I asked her to change it to the right one she went off on one saying she’d asked me which one it was. Was very rude and customer service was terrible. Left without the item and will definitely not be returning there again.
