    I was a member of this gym for nearly 7 years and in that time I’ve seen no investment in new equipment. The equipment is often broken or faulty, the changing rooms are a mess and the pool is often closed for maintenance issues. Not to mention the jacuzzi being permanently closed because essentially it was an expense they could no longer afford. I’ve since moved to a 24 hour gym in Sutton which is much better value for money and the equipment is the latest on the market.

    Was a lovely gym, but hasn't been properly invested in for many years. The gym equipment is old (close to 20 years old) and worn out and the so called repairs result in the machines just about functioning (only for a short period of time) but remain lacking - bikes remain without tension, cross trainer pedels broken, rower chains frequently broken, very few touch screens that work, little to no shock absorption on treadmills or working inclines. Also one by one the facilities are being reduced - the cafe has been taken away, the towels taken away, the jacuzzi closed permanently and the aircon turned off. There doesn't seem to be any plans by the Nuffield Group to invest in this very neglected part of the group and there has been no reduction in the membership fees to compensate for the considerably reduced and poorer facilities. Also the gym has lacked cleanliness recently with a build up of hair and dust in the gym area and the recent and regular changes of management and staff hasn't helped. All in all the gym is in massive decline and all the local gyms, including the budget gyms, provide far better and newer equipment, cleaner facilities and more interest in their customer experience. I have remained with this gym to date due to its location, but with the poor state of it and no aircon will now be seeking to go elsewhere.

    It’s just a bit too run down now. I joined 8 years ago, left and joined last year and it’s still the same machines. A significant number of cardio as a result have broken. They also forget to make sure paper towels and cleaning towels are always within reach. On the plus side it’s not very busy most of the time (can’t speak for post 6pm). Once it gets a refurb it could be an interesting option.

    There are some things to address at this club, like some machines not working in the gym or need repairing. Lockers many not working properly. But the staff are very good, very helpful particularly Dee with sorting a suitable workout for me and Kieron with renewing my membership. Front desk always pleasant with a smile.

    I have to agree with the review below by Mr. Ian Gaunt. The gym is going downhill, so run down and dated. I have been a member of this gym for many years, staff are very nice and friendly, parking and location is good. However, toilets and lockers room are dirty and old, things falling apart, gym area looks dated, machines are very old. The place always packed, probably too many members to accommodate. I have not witnessed any refurbishment, new equipment or any sort of maintenance/updating for probably the last 10 years. Recently they permanently closed the spa area, the excuse was energy bills. However we still paying for this service. All in all, this gym was good maybe 10 years ago but it has been clearly run on the cheap and it is starting to show.
