My experience of the use of the Gym and it’s facilities were generally ok when I was there. David and the team of receptionists were all friendly and helpful. However despite telling various staff through phone calls and in person on several occasions that I was leaving after fulfilling my 12 month contract. I was then charged an extra month for not writing to confirm. (The sole reason for these sort of clauses to exist is precisely for taking advantage of this sort of scenario…..it is completely unnecessary) I don’t currently have the time to dispute and go to the ombudsman…… So I ended up paying.

Only worth joining if you need to use a pool, you do classes and you are based in the city centre. Otherwise it’s too expensive for what you get, puregym is a better value for money. The gym itself is okay-ish, although there is no assisted pull-up and no hip thrust machine (which is critical for me personally), you can find the weird ones like ab crunch machines, that don’t add any value in my opinion. The changing rooms require a refurb 100% - old, not always clean, some locks are broken. Also, taps in women toilets need changing.

I'm the longest serving member of this 🏋️♂️ 💪 🏆 been here since 2008 when it was Esporta (best time) then 2010 when it was Virgin and now 2022 as Nuffield. So 14 years 🙀 🤣 Honest opinion: it's middling for me the equipment is decent, from time to time a machine will develop a fault but will normally be repaired in a decent amount of time. Plus wear and tear happens at most gyms. Maybe the timescale vs price could be better 🤔 the clientele and location are the positives for me: depending on the time of day it's mostly business professionals with a few students. I've been going to this place for 14 years and haven't had any real issues with anyone 🙃 The pool area is the weakpoint I believe the jacuzzi is too expensive to run which is a shame as that was great for relaxing 😌 after a hard workout. This is a deal breaker for some which is fair enough. I just use the steamroom these days.. I pay around £40 a month it's worth checking to see if you can get a coperate membership and save 💰 the reception needs work as depending who's on sometimes it's a friendly hello 👋 and sometimes you get ignored 😔 not great front of house folks. Location is superb and why I'm still here: situated in the centre of Leeds City centre within the Light Shopping centre with Nandos downstairs 😀 well that's if they've got any 🐔 that's Brexit for you. For me I can do some shopping 🛍 or jet home 🏡 So all in all 5/10 for Location, friendly clientele that even close to peak (4pm) will work around you and are respectful or is that because I'm a unit 😉 The End Cert 12A

As previous reviews have mentioned, this gym desperately needs a funding injection. They've renovated the showers, which took forever, but a jacuzzi is still broken and has been for most of the year and now has dirty water and what looks like mould growing on bottom of it. A lot of equipment is out of date, and sometimes broken undergoing multiple repairs. The lockers often don't work and a crevice on the top locker means that your contents can fall into the bottom one - which is not great when it's locked. The disabled toilets are poorly kept are not cleaned in the men's. This may be tolerable but the gym also seems to be full of creeps as well and, in my opinion, some of the managers are next to useless in dealing with it. A lot of antisocial behaviour goes unchecked. I believe I have been bullied and ignored by the manager of the gym. EDIT: On my last day in the gym when I was leaving I found the duty manager to be laughing at me me and amused that I was leaving which I found to be infantile and unprofessional. Avoid
