I stayed at 2 other hotels in Bournemouth rated lower than this and they were impeccable. Ocean beach has many issues and disadvantages. Firstly, cleanliness. Stained bedsheets and stuff on the carpet left from previous guests (definitely don’t walk barefoot in your room). I asked for a refund or to speak to a manager and I had to wait in my room for a long time. I basically had to stay put in the room waiting for the manager to come to me. Then I checked back with the reception, i was told he was busy. In the end he came to speak to me because I insisted at the reception, it was 8:30 pm and I had to find another place to sleep for the night and after 1.5 hrs my issue was still not dealt with. I understand this is a mistake on their side and it happens, probably not all the rooms are like that all the time but it was not dealt with in a professional way. I asked for a complaint form to fill in or a business card, any details of a person/email to contact regarding my issue and they said they cannot give me anything. So if I have a complaint there is no one to contact but the desk person on shift? I was told I need to contact the website i booked with (3rd party-which i did) but I cannot contact anyone from management team directly. Check in process was long and repetitive, had to listen to a “speech” which contained the information that was given to me seconds before in a normal conversation. Very scripted, customer service very poor. The pool/spa/sauna is in a different building, the hotel nearby part of the same chain. So you have to go through 2 car parks outside, pass 2 bars and 2 receptions to get from the sauna/pool back to your room. This should have been mentioned before booking. Would never come back, I had left the night as I had to find another accommodation late evening, even though I was not offered a resolution to my issue. Avoid!! You better pay a lot less for Royal Bath (example) which has lower reviews but it’s a better experience!!
