So this place is considered one of the best Dim Sum spots in London? Now that's just disappointing. It's hard to find delicious dim sum places outside of Seattle and Vancouver honestly. I judge a dim sum place based on how they make their dumpling skin and fillings. Dumpling skin - for example the well known har gau - needs to have a certain glossiness, slight elasticity, softness and slight chew in order to be considered perfect dumpling skin. The fillings also need to have a certain bite, plumpness, and sweetness to the shrimp. All the steamed dumplings here have a dull color, and soft/mushy. The fillings tasted dry and mushy as well. The scallop dumpling was the worst - scallop tasted frozen and fishy. Now the shrimp Cheung fun skin was a passing score but shrimp tasted fishy. Radish/turnip cake barely had any flavor. Chicken feet was overpowering with the 5 spice flavor. And who cuts up chicken feet into small pieces? Must be a London thing. Black bean spareribs were hard and fatty and bland. Sesame prawn roll was different but nothing special. Egg tart crust were undercooked and the filling was not sweet at all. Anyway, Orient dim sum? Hard Pass!

Was quickly seated for 3 people. Nice decor and environment. Staff were quick and attentive. Prices were reasonable considering nearby competitors are more expensive however you pay for what you get. The best highlight was the beef ho fun - they use the fillet! Other places use rump tail or tougher cuts! Good wok hey. Dim sum wise, much of the dim sum lacked flavour, probably lack of seasoning and msg. The biggest let down was the Shanghai style dumpling. Skin was too thick and tiny. Ham sui gok had minimal amount of fillings. The cuttlefish cakes were a bit tough on the outside but this time too much salt. Just realised their hygiene ratings were…not great…but hopefully they will improve on it
