This was my first experience of Piano Week which took place at Rugby School and what a wonderful experience it was. The opportunity to receive personal tuition from an amazing group of teachers went well beyond my expectations and has deepened my enthusiasm to develop my piano playing. Besides the one-to-one tuition, there were courses in jazz and composition, how to practice, memorisation and sight reading. There was also the opportunity to play in informal concerts, something which I hadn’t done for thirty years but I grew more confident as the week went on and really enjoyed this part of the course. Another highlight for me was a master class with the renowned Professor Leslie Howard, what an amazing opportunity! And then there were the recitals by the faculty, virtuoso piano playing in beautiful settings! Piano week offers an opportunity to people of all standards of piano playing. On our course, there were some very talented young people but also adults at various stages of their piano journey. Whatever stage you’re at, Piano Week will offer you an experience that will help you! Finally, the piano facilities at Rugby School were first class with an amazing array of pianos and particularly the Steinway grands. Thank you to the faculty and thank you to my fellow students. It was a great week!

I have joined similar events in US before but The Piano Week was by far the best one. I was blown away by the intensity of the program as well as the quality of the teachers. It was as though I was in the venerable Wigmore Hall and taking lessons from the performers. I learned a lot and feel eager to incorporate the learnings in my practice at home. I will be back again next year.

Piano Week in December 2020 was a wonderful experience. I am a piano/music novice with just over a year experience and as an adult learner, I wanted an experience with first rate teachers in a comfortable environment to gauge where I was and how to move forward. Piano Week exceeded every expectation. I was able to work on a variety of pieces and accomplished several "firsts" - performing in front of others (virtually), composing, improvisation, while also getting wonderful coaching on how to polish a piece, how to start a piece, technical exercises, organizing practice time, etc. I walked away inspired by the quality of the teachers and grateful they were able to connect with a novice player, pick me up where I was and give me some tools to move forward! Wonderful chance to get focused exposure to world class musicians and teachers. I took the class remotely from the comfort of home but the logistics and attention to detail were very professional! Wonderful professional staff, great participants - highly recommended!

I had a wonderful time at pianoweek. It lifted my spirits during this difficult period of Covid 19. It was a privilege to work with so many distinguished pianists and to hear them play. Pianoweek adopts a holistic approach, the composition, harmony and improvisation classes contributed greatly to my musical development. The one to one classes were world class. I really felt that I got value for money given the number of classes I had. What was really heartening was to see how everyone on the course gets such lovely feedback from the faculty and there was a sense of being part of a lovely supportive group. Now that I have been adopted by the pianoweek community I would love to meet everyone again.

I attended just for a day in 2018 at Moreton Hall School. Lovely friendly atmosphere . I had an individual piano lesson, played in the daily student concert and went to the evening concert recital by Stephen Kovacevich and Samantha Ward. All superb ! I attended another day at Moreton Hall in 2019 as well as a superb evening concert the week before. I had an excellent individual lesson with one of the tutors, working on some tricky parts of a movement of a mozart sonata. Afterwards I felt really encouraged with new practice strategies to try. I also had chance to learn a part from a duet and was given a complimentary Schott book. Enjoyed watching the student concert and the excellent evening concert of trios. Thank you for making me feel so welcome.

I attended Piano Week at Moreton Hall School in Shropshire in August 2019. It's a lovely location close to Oswestry and Llangollen, with lots of opportunities for walking and cycling during breaks. The course was a mixture of one to one piano lessons, masterclasses and classes in sightreading, composition and aspects of technique. About 20 hours of direct tuition, along with opportunities for private practice or to purchase additional lessons. The tutors were all concert pianists, but more importantly were versatile and high-calibre teachers who could adapt to bring the best out of students at all stages of learning. There were world-class piano recitals provided every evening. I thoroughly enjoyed the week and came away with a clear path towards improving my piano playing.

Last year I took the Piano Week plunge and participated in PW Foligno, Italy. It was one of the best weeks in my musical life, and I will always remember and cherish the experience. The lessons are constructive yet fun, and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The faculty is top-class and very approachable. I appreciate the non-competitive aspect of this programme, as I think it helps every participant to feel at ease, as well as get to know one another. There was a lovely social side to the week, which created a wonderful dynamic in such a beautiful town. The scheduling is extremely organised and there are also loads of practise rooms to use in between lessons. I thoroughly reccomend Piano Week to anyone at any musical level who is looking for performance experience, intensive lessons, as well as interested in meeting other piano anoraks. PW London and PW Rugby 2019, here I come!
