Did a search for Manchester parking for AO arena to watch Manchester Thunder. It was an option on the Qparks site and it auto populated the times. On booking it said £8 and strangely it gave a few days after the event to exit the car park after the event. The event doors opened from 3:30 and I arrived not long before 4pm my proposed parking start time, like many other reviews it seems I got stung £2.90 as that is hourly charge even if 1 minute early. Why let the barrier open before scheduled start time without warning the driver? This car park especially and this area in general you need to be very careful of bus only sections (which not in car park control but certainly needs to be considered when selecting where to park!) Like many have said it's a busy car park and you will have to search for a space (But don't arrive early or you will be charged), parking is tight so they could park as many as possible, driving the car park you can see examples of car paint scrapes all over the car park (so newer of bigger cars, you might want to take that into consideration). The Exit signage is rather poor and I spotted several cars driving round more than once confused on how to get out. For me, just like the 3 cars in front of me, the exit barrier didn't open without manual intervention as number plate recognition failed. The other poor thing I saw at this car park was lack of pay machines, several who needed to pay queued up, worse still is the very poor signage on scanning your ticket to re-enter the car park through the doors, again many people confused walking around trying to figure the way in. When I scanned my QR code I counted 14 people suddenly scramble to get in! Considering the extra charge, lack or space and overall poor experience both with facilities not working and the Blunt and very poor customer service when you contact them. I would highly recommend to seek other parking! Next time I know I will just park at the Arena as walking through, it was clear it had more space between cars, attendants helping people, who seemed friendly with a smile on face and the cost would have worked out the same. The positive I would mention, the car park was litter free, smoggy but relatively clean. It's location is fine if your going to AO Arena or that end of the city but not so great for accessing main city centre areas (with better options available) Need to do much better Q-Park

Atrocious scam for money. Card systems don’t work, gives a ticket, locks you out, charges £22. Then the barrier will take £6. Would give -5 stars if possible.

Avoid! Unless you know the area and roads around the car park very well. The entrance is located on a bus lane and I couldn’t find how to access the car park while avoiding the bus lane, so I parked elsewhere.

I parked here for a close and secure location to Manchester Victoria station, only a 5-10min walk away. I pre-booked online which was easy plus I found a discount code which was very welcome. Entering the car park with pre-booking was easy too, they have ANPR cameras on the entrance and exit of the car park. When you pre-book you enter your registration plate so when the cameras recognised my plate all barriers opened up without any need for me to stop at all, same with on the way out too. I'd definitely recommend pre-booking, you have a chance to save money and when you get there, it saves a little time too. It was oddly quite warm inside the car park but I wasn't complaining, it was a cold, wet March morning. It seemed like a secure place, there was some sort of works going on in the pedestrian entrance area of the car park when I went so doors were open 24/7 although it is a 24/7 car park so maybe they're always like that. To actually get into the car park where you can access your car you do need to scan your QR code/parking ticket. Definitely recommend if using Manchester Victoria Station!
