I can’t say enough about the staff here, I was originally booked for the birth center, but my labor started with my water breaking, going to the labor ward for induction after 24 hours, then baby’s heart beat dropping so I had an epidural then finally emergency c-section, even with the whole birth experience I felt very supported from the team, they brought me a midwife from the birth center which was great, thank you Laura and Aisha my great midwifes, thanks Dr Ryan and Dr Liam for the great work, sympathy and support and all the nurses and staff. All I can say is that I will always remember my birth as empowering, yes not as planned but I still had a very positive experience and everyone really did their best!

I had horrible experience at Queen Charlotte hospital Lewis Ward. The night staff was rude and apathetic. They showed no care or empathy to me while I was screaming in pain during my labour and despite asking multiple times, they REFUSED to provide me any pain medication. One of the staff members was Venus and others I do not remember. I was by myself, I kept ringing the bell and asking to assist with pain assistance but they did not budge. Venus would stand there to observe me and then just move out without any compassion or assistance. At the end I was fully dilated and they had to rush me to the labour ward for delivery. My water broke in the corridor in front of waiting patients!! As soon I reached the labour ward my daughter was born within couple of minutes. I had severe pelvic pain and diabetes in pregnancy which was not taken into consideration during my care. My pelvic pain got worse after delivery and it tooks me months to recover. I was so upset and it has taken me months to recover from the trauma of being treated horribly at Lewis Ward. I will not recommend this hospital to anyone!! Absolutely pathetic.

Not recommended - delivered my baby in a corridor due to their negligence and lack of hospital beds The lack of foresight and poor resource management at labour ward triage reception which resulted on me having to bear the pain of the second stage labor at the triage reception (on a chair without any pain killer and with my birthing partners waiting in a corridor as they could not come with me there) I broke my waters at the triage reception, that is when they put me on a wheelchair and move me to a bed. The midwife was screaming at me as I could not stop the contractions that were forcing me to give birth. I ended up delivering my baby with the clothes I had on, with my boots and on a corridor. Worst of all, they did not even apologize, the staff was extremely rude and was screaming at me during this whole process and I found that whole situation deeply regrettable. I raised a formal complaint and I am still waiting to hear from them.

Was here today for our 12 week scan. Staff at reception were lovley, and the sonographers were absolutely wonderful. Our baby was in a very awkward position and just wouldn't move. They asked us to come back in 30 mins and finally we got the messurents and a picture 🙂. Thank you so much for your patience
