My alarm installer recommended a Risco alarm because it had an app in which you can switch on/off the alarm from your phone which was free at the time of installation. A year after installation Risco started charging an annual fee of £20.99 to use the app. I can understand this for people who have CCTV because uploading videos to the cloud is data intensive but my system has no CCTV, just a standard house alarm. So Risco expect me to subsidise the cost of their cloud services for a product I do not even have or use. Especially as this fee came after using the free app as a selling point. The other issue I have with Risco is my alarm installer decided not to install alarms or maintain them any longer. I tried to get him back to do some maintenance on my system for 9 months with no luck. Numerous times he said he would come but didn't. Eventually I managed to find a new local, Risco approved installer who serviced my system and found the original installer hadn't installed the siren correctly. Naturally, I wanted the new installer to maintain my system but apparently only the original installer can release my alarm system from the app so the new installer can monitor diagnostics remotely. Risco suggested I buy a new alarm panel which was ridiculous. Do I own my alarm system or my installer!? Absolute joke of a company. Avoid at all costs.

We had a Risco Agility 4 alarm system successfully fitted at home in 2020. One of the key selling points was that it could be operated and checked remotely via the internet without an ongoing charge. Completely out of the blue Risco now require a monthly subscription payment. This “moving of the goal posts” is an unacceptable commercial practice. Risco is not a firm to be trusted. Don’t be surprised if they hit you with unexplained and unforeseen charges they never told you about on making a purchase.

I was fed duff information by their tech guys and ordered a panel I didn't need only to continue on and resolve the issue myself. I phoned them and emailed them several times never received email reply and never received phone call back after being told I would. Complete disrespect for their customers in my opinion.
