An interesting place to visit if you like museums and paintings. The house is perched on the clifftop overlooking Bournemouth beach, and is set in a pleasant garden. Some of the rooms were not accessible due to leaking from the ceiling. I know they've removed some items from the house but I still find it too cluttered and dark, for my tastes. It has a cafe on the second floor with a decent selection on offer, but nothing inspirational. There is a lift in the building but the museum is not easily accessible for wheelchair users

I may not have been to Bournemouth in a long while but if anyone is going this is one place I always recommend. It’s absolutely remarkable. The walk there with the views of the sea is breath taking alone. The house has so much history and art to see. If you love art, history, architecture etc then no visit to Bournemouth is complete if you do not go here at least once.

This is a truly unique and extraordinary museum. For me, the museum in its entirety is a love story. It is an expression of the love Lady Annie and Sir Merton Russell-Cotes had for one another, the reveeance and devotion they held each other another in, their joint love for and appreciation of art and culture and their philanthropic generousity to those around them. The building itself is exquisite without being overly ostentatious, as is the garden. The art and artefact collection is remarkable not only because of those who created them but also because each piece was carefully chosen, loved, and cherished by the Russell-Cotes. All the staff at the museum were extremely friendly, welcoming, helpful, and efficient! I strongly recommend doing a guided tour of the museum. My friend and I were guided by Pippa, who is one of the many wonderful, dedicated volunteers. Pippa's knowledge, attention to detail, and presentation were outstanding, but most of all, it was her love for the Russell-Cotes and their legacy that made our visit so much more memorable.

A lovely museum with friendly staff. I enjoyed the talented lady playing the piano in the entrance hall. It really added to the atmosphere. The cheese scone I had in the cafe was very tasty. Would recommend.
