Have been a member of the Club here for 30 years. Recently ownership changed and sports facilities have been reduced. The restaurant/bar is better than before, if more expensive. The tennis courts have gone, the sauna doesnt exist, nor does the steam room or jacuzzi. There is no snooker room, table tennis or pool table. The above hotel details are therefore incorrect and misleading

Disappointed this did not deliver a 4 star service. Pre visit had to make repeated calls to arrange pool and spa slots as reception would not do it for me. Followed up by poor communication from staff on arrival...no dressing gowns or slippers in rooms so ended up walking outside in just a towel from the pool to the spa! Ridiculous situation of walking to a hut up the hill to collect a token and towel for the pool even tho I had booked a session in advance. Poor communication between hotel pool and spa ...almost as if they were 3 separate businesses. Hope it improves with their new spa but my visit was ruined. I complained to manager who thanked me for feedback but did nothing. Had hoped it would be reflected in the bill or some small gesture of good customer service....but NOTHING! Evening food average...honestly felt the pie was the same as one I could buy in my local chip shop. The setting and view are stunning, and the massage I got was superb....but the rest of the staff seemed inexperienced or jaded....will not return!

We stayed here for my mums 50th birthday for 2 nights. The hotel is absolutely stunning from the location to the interior, food and helpful staff. We booked the cherry blossom room for a private dinner. I spoke with Louise our event coordinator weeks before this and she was so patient and helpful! We had Lucas(or Will, sorry I couldn't remember) with us for the night, and he was brilliant! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again in warm weather and hopefully when the sauna etc is ready. The only thing I would say is the walls in the rooms are extremely thin; we felt really bad even speaking as all sound can be heard on the other side of the wall.
