Very poor service was instructed through the bank to provide a valuation , the process took a while and we asked the valuer to write a letter confirming the valuation will stand (this is common practice / valuation was also very low) and he refused to do this, advised we would pay for the letter he told us we would have to pay for a full revaluation charge just so he could renew the report. The valuation was £20,000 less than the new company who I instructed. They were the cheapest on the panel I went with them second time round I went with a more higher priced surveyor and the job was done! very bad attitude when i spoke to Phil Mason and wasnt impressed neither way my bank manager who also said she will make sure they are not used again!

Let me first start by saying I used to work for a bank and provided this company tens of thousands pounds worth of business. They were very professional and efficient. This was nearly 20 years ago. I have had no interest in banking for several years and don’t know anyone there that I used to deal with, but used them because of how good I remembered them to be. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism as Tony Mancini demonstrated, let alone the expense. As a Partner of, what is now, a very sizeable firm there is no excuse. The report was delayed by nearly 3 weeks due to “not having enough secretaries” then it was “not received payment” (even though an invoice hadn’t been generated). All the errors and delays were directly with them. On to the report. I’ve had 20 years in property financing and seen thousands. This was and is one of the worst. You could have sent round a student to tick boxes. Why pay a Partner price for something so ridiculous. Upon stripping back the walls and highlighting (nicely may I add) that his report might not be accurate and he may want to come round to take another look, he replied yes that is a good idea. Then didn’t reply until after 5 days later (despite chasing) with a date. He then wanted more money £135 per hour + vat, for what? For me to show him his report is wrong! It should have been the other way round! Anyway I confirmed I would pay it, as I needed to have a final report. Both the management company and Scanlons were included in all these emails. So when it’s time to meet on the after day, both I and the management company are there waiting on Tony. 15 minutes after waiting an email comes through saying “no one confirmed my fees” I replied I did at 09:13. Tony replies “well I didn’t see it and have another job on at 11:00 so I can’t come now” Needless to say we got a different surveyor in. I am not doubting Tony Mancini’s credentials, but his customer service, timing, and professionalism on this occasion was terrible. So I recommend if you’re going to use this firm make sure everything is in writing and there are clauses in there for failure to deliver/breach of contract.
