FAQ

What is your school's curriculum and how does it differ from other preparatory schools?

Our school follows the National Curriculum of England, which is a standardized curriculum followed by all state schools in England. However, we also incorporate a strong Christian ethos into our teaching and encourage our students to develop strong moral values. This sets us apart from other preparatory schools as we prioritize character development alongside academic achievement.

How do you assess the needs of my child/student?

We assess the needs of each individual student through a variety of methods including standardized tests, teacher observations, and conversations with parents. We also have a dedicated learning support team who work with students who require additional support. We strive to ensure that each student is given the support they need to reach their full potential.

How do you ensure the safety of students and staff within schools?

We take the safety of our students and staff very seriously. We have a comprehensive safeguarding policy in place which includes regular staff training, background checks for all staff and volunteers, and a designated safeguarding lead who oversees all safeguarding procedures. We also have a secure campus with controlled access and CCTV monitoring.

What is the average class size at your high school?

Our average class size is around 25 students. However, class sizes can vary depending on the subject and year group.

How do you cater to different skill levels and ages in your lessons?

We have a range of teaching strategies and resources that cater to different learning styles and abilities. Our teachers differentiate their lessons to ensure that each student is challenged and supported appropriately. We also offer additional support and extension activities for students who require it. Additionally, our curriculum is designed to build upon previous knowledge and skills, ensuring that students are challenged at an appropriate level for their age and ability.

It’s a large and also free carpark so little to moan about! With the accessibility to the town and local walks it’s a great spot and good asset to the area. Nice to admire some of the old railway signs too which are a good bit of history.

Tried to have a a good hour taking in the railway history of the area but instead noticed the cameras watch my every move ! Talk about big brother ! Really does take away some enjoyment and what should of been a stress free hobby ! Apart from this it is a nice big free car park and the walks down the old line are fabulous (especially away from being constantly watched)
