Deconsecrated church that now is a charity fayre in Sandwich. Bargains by the bucket load! Have a good friend who volunteers there so perhaps am biased. £3.50 to climb the bell tower and enjoy fantastic views of local area. 10/10

The inside of the Church is buzzing with local craftspeople, a great selection of previously owned books, preloved clothes and bric-a-brac You can get tea, coffee, bacon rolls and sweet treats which you can take into the garden to enjoy Not only that but you can climb the church tower, see the bells and admire a fantastic view over Sandwich

Great community and conservation hub with lots of activity. Cafe, crafts and information. There is the opportunity to climb the 112 steps for £3.50. The ancient custom of ringing the curfew bell from the church at 8pm daily still continues. It was the bell to release geese and pigs into the street to eat all the rubbish that accumulated during the day. Beautiful courtyard and garden with seating. The church is open daily for visitors.

The church exterior is very interesting as it is composed of flint, stone, brick and rubble. Together they combine to make a very appealing structure. Inside the building, which ceased to be a working church soon after WWII, is well utilised and is a centre of the community. The graveyard is kept beautifully and has seating and attractive plantings

(Translated by Google) The Anglican church was built around 1100 and has an eventful history behind it. In 1216 Sandwich was attacked by the French. The church was destroyed and was only rebuilt in the 13th century. In 1560 the church was taken over by Spanish Protestants and in 1661 the tower collapsed. It was only rebuilt in the course of the 19th century. On some days there is a kind of book flea market in the church. The church is centrally located in this beautiful southern England city. We've grown so fond of sandwiches that it's an absolute fixture on our trips to England. The St. Peter BEd and Breakfast near the church comes highly recommended. (Original) Die anglikanische Kirche wurde um um 1100 erbaut und hat eine bewegte Geschichte hinter sich. Im Jahre 1216 wurde Sandwich von den Franzosen angegriffen. Hierbei wurde die Kirche zerstört und wurde erst im 13. Jahrhundert wieder aufgebaut. 1560 wurde die Kirche von spanischen Protestanten übernommen und im Jahre 1661 stürzte der Turm ein. Erst im Laufe des 19. Jahrhunderts erfolgte der Wiederaufbau. An manchen Tagen findet in der Kirche eine Art Bücherflohmarkt statt. Die Kirche liegt zentral in dieser wunderschönen Stadt Südenglands. Wir haben Sandwich so lieb gewonnen, dass dies ein absoluter Fixpunkt bei unseren Englandreisen ist. Das nahe der Kirche gelegene St. Peter BEd and Breakfast ist sehr zu empfehlen.
