Chose Darren after obtaining a few quotes for kitchen refurb, retaining the granite work surface. He made several suggestions to further improve the old design which was brown wood effect. His attention to detail is great, very high craftsmanship and kept us informed through the installation. Kept the installation clean so we were able to keep using the kitchen whilst the installation was completed. I wouldn’t have any hesitation in recommending Darren’s services for kitchen installation. He’s a one man band and steady and methodical, but the end result has been worth the wait! Will be using him again for any other new kitchen, bathroom or bedroom installation and/or refit. Update: sent me a message within half hour of posting this trying to blackmail me to remove this post. Then called me insulting names. Definitely avoid this person it’s unbelievable how anyone running a business can behave like this. So I contacted Darren who came out and measured up to replace my kitchen cupboards. He knew the urgency of this and saId he’d get me a quote through within 24 hours. It’s now been a week. Not only did he not bother to give me a quote he’s just completely ignoring my messages. All he had to do was reply if he was busy, although he told me he could definitely do the job. Not professional at all and extremely unreliable. I wouldn’t recommend at all. Darren made and installed 24 replacement cabinet doors and drawer fronts, plus modified a carousel cupboard and built a new tall unit with Roller Door in my kitchen. He was professional at all times and I was very pleased and impressed with the finished result as it all looks very lovely and co-ordinates very well with the existing units/kitchen furniture in situ. Not an easy task for him I would imagine as none of the original units were of a standard size. Would highly recommend. I can see that generally Darren gets glowing reviews. This couldn’t be further from my experience. Darren is truly a nightmare to have run a project for you and entirely lacking in professionalism. I will say that the work he did on our ceiling was of a high quality and looked great until roofers had to remove and refit the Velux Darren incorrectly installed. Unfortunately, he never returned to rectify the issues arising when the window was fitted correctly. Some lowlights of our bathroom project: - Darren’s phone is almost always turned off so one can’t contact him (the landline number available for Renew Kitchens online takes you to Nuffield Health) - He was unable to source a shower for us so we were without one for 4 months until we took over project management and got the exact one we wanted delivered the next day - Darren left us without lights for 4 months as he couldn’t arrange an electrician - To our surprise, a lot of the work was carried out by subcontractors, none of whom Darren had anything good to say about once they had done their work. He told us that the bathroom installer who had put in our bathroom was known as “leaky Andy” - He told outright lies about work he had supposedly done and hadn’t - After 5 months with our original bathroom door being with Darren (we put a new one on when we couldn’t wait any longer) he came and dropped it off, unannounced in our front garden in the rain on 23rd December without even knocking on the door. I think this speaks volumes on the type of character you are dealing with. Unsurprisingly his phone was turned off when we tried to call. Additionally, he has either lost the door key of ours he had or chose not to return it with the door. There are more examples of his unprofessionalism and incompetence, but I think this gives an overview. Use Darren and Renew Kitchens at your own peril.

I love my new kitchen and en-suite, Darren did a fantastic job. He offered advice and creative suggestions and solutions throughout the planning stages and was always helpful and very professional without the hard sell. I had an issue with my heating system just before the job started and Darren sorted this out despite it disrupting his schedule giving me total peace of mind and taking the stress out of the situation. Darren goes above and beyond in his work and is also a really nice guy to have around and totally trustworthy. I just gave him a key and he came and went and adapted around my shift work accordingly.
