I was referred to see if my tooth could be saved by having root canal treatment. Unfortunately the tooth needs extracting. I was disappointed that having paid £180 to be told this it then took them two weeks and several chasing phone calls to relay this information back to my dentist. Two additional weeks of pain before I could join the waiting list for extraction. Very disappointed.

Twenty years ago my UK dentist condemned my left rear bottom molar tooth saying that the root shape made it impossible to save by root canal treatment. The tooth wasn't giving any pain so I decided to leave it in situ until it did. Over the next decade I had my regular dental appointments in the Philippines, Egypt, Turkey and the UK. My dentist in Cairo was also a lecturer in dentistry at Cairo University. All were good dentists and all agreed that my left rear molar couldn't be saved and should come out. Three years ago that tooth started to give trouble. I saw my new dentist in Verwood, Dorset who thought the tooth should come out but who also thought that there was one man who might be able to save it. The man is of international fame and, as luck would have it, practices quite near to my home in the U.K. I was referred to Dr Rhodes who was completely undaunted by my tooth root problem and turned out to be something of a magician, saving the tooth root and building a new structure above the gum. Three years later it is still functioning perfectly. Last year I had reason to see Dr Rhodes again and was pleased to tell him that the £x was amongst the best value I'd ever had. He had saved me from a less satisfactory, more expensive implant. My new problem last year was that I had an eight teeth, very expensive bridge, spanning all front teeth and more, fitted in Egypt, wisely a technique never used in the UK. A dental suite of furniture, as one dentist described it. An abscess had developed over and in two teeth due to defects in ancient root canal treatment. I had to see an emergency, out of regular hours dentist who said that it might just be possible to save the bridge if someone very skilled could carry out the root canal work from above - from the root end. He recommended Dr. Rhodes. I saw my regular dentist two days later who referred me to his choice, Dr. Rhodes, who was again undaunted and performed the difficult operation perfectly. Yesterday the repair was subject to a follow up Xray ray and examination by Dr Rhodes; all was healing perfectly. I have written this long review to try to convey that dentists highly respect Dr Rhodes for his exceptional skill, that he has done excellent work for me and that I couldn't be more pleased. Accordingly, if you need root canal work or other procedures, even if difficult, I thoroughly recommend Dr Rhodes' practice as your solution. A bonus is that Dr Rhodes is a charming person, an excellent communicator and modest. He puts people at their ease. Treatment for me was no more stressful than having a haircut. No stress at all save that the equipment in the practice looks alarmingly expensive. My treatment has been highly satisfactory and a good investment; I am sure that yours will be too.
