We wanted a laid back, relaxed DIY venue for our wedding which is what the Hare’s Field presented itself as. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case. From the moment we arrived, Mick, the owner who we had never met, hounded us in a pretty aggressive way. He would not leave us to set up and caused so much stress. On the wedding day, he was constantly at the guests complaining, telling them off and made people really uncomfortable. We got a lot of complaints about this and of him watching the wedding from his window, to repeatedly come out and tell people off, including myself when someone (nothing to do with the wedding) set off fireworks a few fields away. He made one guest cry by telling her off about using the wrong bin bag for recycling. It wasn’t appropriate or how the venue was sold to us. My ceremony set up was moved without my knowledge and the owners were repeatedly in the bridal suite (which was sold to us as exclusive use and without interruption) with the owners moving all my stuff and dumping it on the bathroom floor while I was absent - again without my knowledge or consent and causing so much stress. We booked the Hare’s Field for our wedding expecting it to be the best day of our lives. Unfortunately it was ruined by Mick’s intrusive nature and we feel really let down by the experience.

Beautiful setting with the right weather. Dry hire venue. Approximately rooms/suites of quality accommodation. Perfect venue for an intimate wedding. Some things a little unusual for a wedding venue ie: no experienced coordinator on the day, caterers arriving into the courtyard to set up in vans just as bride and groom exit the ceremony (probably could have been a bit more discreet), VERY limited parking as not allowed on the grass, so some vehicles are parked in the courtyard. Enjoyable wedding day 😁 dog friendly too 🐾

We chose The Hares Field as our wedding venue in May. Beautiful venue, accommodation on site so convenient and it was great that our dog was able to be there for the whole day with us. Fiona and Mick were very helpful in the lead up to the wedding.

This venue was perfect for our small wedding ceremony but what really made our day special was Fiona and Mick who were amazing hosts. They made sure my day went smoothly and went above and beyond for my guests. I cannot recommend this venue enough - breathtaking views and so much nature. So happy that I made memories here which will last a lifetime!
