It was good and we enjoyed our experience. But at 4pm the restaurant staff all went to have their lunch and walked through the restaurant with their plates of food and then congregated on the outside terrace to eat. I’ve never seen that before!

Simply an insult, to your time, the money you worked hard for, and the Italian food. Bland is the first word that comes to mind when I try to describe this dining “experience”. Overpriced is second - two sad scallops with chickpeas, an utterly unimaginative dish with a £34 tag.

It feels a little hilarious coming to London for four nights and and paying the most for our worst meal at The River Cafe. The service was attentive yet, not spectacular. We should have known and left once the £33 appetizer arrived…. 2 small scallops complete with garbanzo beans. I wish there was a clearer codex around restaurants like this that are bleeding the rich rather than providing something special. Here are three London restaurants that you should consider prior to this if quality, creativity and execution are important to you. Little duck, the picklery Papi Brawn

Disappointing. It is a scandal to charge £32 for pasta. I had a ravioli with fresh herbs but there was so much lemon on it I could not taste it. It needed a simple sauce that did not mask the flavour. Basically if you can afford lunch here get a ticket to Italy and eat the real thing.
