I had lasek laser eye surgery performed by Dr Gartry both in 2012 and 2023. I am short sighted so I needed help with correcting my long sightedness. I repeated the surgery as it’s normal for the vision to regress over time. I have been able to achieve pilot standard vision and couldn’t be happier. He is very patient, attentive and addresses all your concerns and fears with the best of intentions. I didn’t have any fears with the second surgery as having had him once I knew I was in the safest of hands. I couldn’t recommend Dr Gartry more highly and feel very fortunate that I was able to have him on both occasions. He is without doubt the best of the best and I’m eternally grateful to him for all he has done for me.

In January 2023 a routine eye examination found the sight in my left eye had deteriorated. A letter of referral was forwarded by me to David Gartry for comment. He agreed that YAG laser treatment was necessary. Early March I had the treatment on both eyes. The procedure was clearly communicated and was painless, resulting in an immediate improvement in vision. I cannot speak too highly of David and his team, consummate professionals all. Don’t delay if YAG laser treatment is advised. I would still be awaiting a consultation with the NHS under any other circumstances. My sight is too important to delay treatment. I made the right decision.

I found Professor Gartry via Moorfields Hospital. My consultation was very informative and Professor Gartry explained the process for Refractive Lens Exchange surgery with femtosecond laser. I had the surgery at the end of August 2022 after wearing glasses for reading for over 50 years . I was long sighted and my prescription changed as the years progressed increasing in my lens requirements. The procedure was simple and the aftercare easy. The staff working at both the hospital and afterwards at the clinic at Wimpole Street were very helpful. Especially before the procedure I was made to feel relaxed and was kept informed in a calm and supportive manner. I could read a text message the morning after my procedure. I cannot recommend the procedure or the service I have received highly enough. And finally I don't have to worry about losing my glasses. They are not needed anymore.
