I don't mind the Winston they just never seem to have more then one person on the bar. Also not much of atmosphere. Maybe I just went the wrong days but it's quite quiet, I like a place with a little music and bar staff who are happy to have a laugh with you and not take you too seriously. Barman did have some great cocktail making skills though

Best food I've experienced in Southampton. Much more than your usual pub grub, this place delivers a high standard of food and presentation. Don't let the laid back pub style appearance turn you away, The Winston has a fantastic menu, and quality of food difficult to find in Southampton. In my opinion this is the best bang for your buck in Hampshire.

The pub is well situated and affordable. However the room was unclean. The work that has been done to spruce it up has left aweful marks over the floor. The bathroom has not been cleaned ina while. There were spiders and webs all over the bathroom, and all their spawn. So hadnt been cleaned in a while. The room itself was compact and suitable for us, but beds we found the room lacked simple things like hooks for clothes and towels....the only place to hang a wet towel was the wardrobe!
