Lack of help and consideration for independent self funded researchers. The registration fee for the conference was 350 euro, around half of wages in South European countries. Apart from that the conference was held in prime vacation season with flights, transfers, hotels and food, running up to as much as nearly 500 euro. When not being able to aford this, I tried to cancel 28 days before the event. Being told that it was to late to cancel. If this organisation is supposed to be supporting research, I find it a funny way to do so.
