Although generally a good service when it comes to mediating with problematic HA landlords, I found they have little power to influence them. When it came to complaining about a data breach it was a different matter. VS failed to inform me of the extent of their data-sharing. I was told by my landlord that they had had a meeting about me with VS and the local council, which I knew nothing about. The VS worker said she had been on leave and also knew nothing about it. I was left to presume the landlord had made it up. I later discovered that all along VS had been attending monthly meetings at the local council, headed by police, involving over 20 other borough-wide agencies, and at no time did VS inform me this was the case. Any information disclosed about victims gets shared with these borough-wide 3rd parties (and if it is negative and involves errors and false data about you, this gets shared with all, to your detriment). You can imagine the problems trying to sort that out via the council. The complaints procedure was appalling. Despite making my point with evidence, VS made excuses using irrelevant examples. Shame on you VS. I advise anyone contacting them to specify that you don't want to have your data “shared” with "marac" without your consent or believe it or not they will go ahead and do it. Then if you complaint they will try their best to blame you, the victim! I appealed and this was the result, and there is nothing you can do about it.
